"The serbian artist Jelena Gajinović draws parallels between the imagery
of medieval courtship and the use of emojis on smartphones. The
woodcut “Lady Venus and the One in love”, made by Master
Caspar in 1495, inspired her to translate the medieval symbols
into the present day. Beyond the symbolism of love, Jelena
Gajinović’s work shows the important role that images
